Which Volvo excavator fits a tight site
How to compare SRTEC's Volvo excavators for a confined Singapore site, using published weight, tail swing, and bucket figures before you ask for a rental quote.
Start with the space, not the model name
SRTEC rents and sells Volvo excavators from its office at 51 Changi Business Park Central 2, #04-05. The fleet pages publish the figures that decide whether a machine can work against a wall, a shophouse rear, or a live lane. Quotes are in SGD and are given on request. This page does not add a day rate.
The short-swing machines
The Volvo ECR88D is the compact end of the published fleet: 9,220 kg, a D2.6H engine at 41 kW, and a digging depth of 4,130 mm. The site describes it as a zero tail-swing machine for tight spaces. The Volvo ECR135CL is the next step up for confined sites: 13,430 kg, a D4 engine at 75 kW, a 0.44 m³ bucket, digging depth of 5,780 mm, and a tail swing radius of 1,390 mm.
When the site can take a mid-size machine
The EC200D is about 19,800–20,300 kg, with a D5 engine at 123 kW and a 0.8 m³ bucket. The EC210BNLC is 21,500 kg, with a 1.25 m³ bucket and a tail swing radius of 2,750 mm. The EC210D is 21,000 kg, with a D6E engine at 123 kW, a 0.8–1.2 m³ bucket, and a tail swing radius of 2,850 mm. Those tail-swing numbers are the ones to put next to the gap you actually have. A heavier machine is not a better rental if the counterweight cannot swing.
What to send with the enquiry
- The work: trench, demolition, loading, or general digging.
- How tight the swing area is, and whether the machine must stay clear of a boundary.
- How long you need it, and whether you are asking about rental or sale.
- Whether you also need a lorry or the 5-ton forklift from the same fleet.
